Professor Megan Madigan Peercy (University of Maryland, Multilingual Research Center) delivered a plenary speech and conducted workshops entitled "Humanizing Language Education" on May 12–13, 2026. The events were organized jointly by the School of Foreign Languages and the Department of English Language Teaching at Marmara University.
On May 12, a plenary speech for faculty members and in-service English teachers was held at Marmara University’s Göztepe Campus, followed by an interactive workshop. On May 13, Professor Peercy led a hands-on workshop for undergraduate students in the Department of English Language Teaching at the University’s Maltepe Campus.
Throughout the events, Professor Peercy emphasized the importance of inclusive, learner-centered, and humanizing approaches to language education. She also shared her expertise and practical insights into classroom practices that foster meaningful and supportive learning environments.
