On May 4, 2026, a seminar titled “Basic Disaster Awareness and Living with Earthquakes” was organized for the students and academic staff of our faculty by Ms. Aydan Özmen, the Training Coordinator of the GEA Search and Rescue Team. Through the presentations delivered by Ms. Özmen and her colleagues from the GEA team, critical topics such as pre-disaster preparedness and risk reduction were addressed. The necessary precautions to be taken before, during, and after an earthquake were discussed in detail. Participants were informed about preparing emergency kits, identifying safe areas, and developing emergency response plans.
